Reddit is moving Reminder Ads from beta to general availability for advertisers worldwide. The format adds a 'Remind Me' call-to-action button to image and video ads running on Awareness and Traffic objectives, giving advertisers a reminder mechanic inside the main self-serve buying flow.

How Reminder Ads Work

A user who taps the Remind Me button on a Reddit Reminder Ad opts in to receive two scheduled push notifications tied to the advertised event. According to the platform, the first is delivered 24 hours before the event, and the second at the moment of launch. Both are localized to the user's timezone and link to the advertiser's destination URL. Reddit positions the format for time-bound moments including product launches, entertainment premieres, game releases, seasonal sales, and live events.

The creative surface itself stays a standard Reddit image or video ad. Reddit says the Remind Me button sits on top of the existing ad format rather than existing as a separate unit, so creative and targeting workflows inside Reddit Ads Manager do not change. Advertisers can set the event date and the destination URL at the campaign level, and Reddit handles the notification scheduling and delivery.

Where They Fit in Reddit's Ad Stack

Reminder Ads are available inside two of Reddit's existing campaign objectives, Awareness and Traffic, rather than as a separate objective. That keeps the format compatible with the existing measurement and pacing rules for those objectives, and advertisers do not have to rebuild campaign structures to use it.

The format joins a roster of ad products Reddit has extended over the past year, including Collection Ads with a Shopify dynamic product feed integration and an enterprise buying integration with Pacvue. The direction is consistent: Reddit is pushing its self-serve surface into formats that previously required custom, sales-led packaging.

Competitive Context

Save-the-date ad formats are a small but active category across the major platforms. TikTok offers Countdown Stickers and sells Pulse premium-event sponsorships. Snapchat runs Pre-Save Ads tied to product and content launches. YouTube's Premiere Set Reminder exists, but it sits inside the organic experience rather than the paid ad stack.

Reddit's move distinguishes the format by placing a two-notification reminder mechanic inside its core self-serve buying flow rather than as a premium-tier or organic-only tool. For advertisers planning campaigns around fixed launch dates, that makes reminder-based paid media available without a direct-sales relationship or a dedicated takeover package.
